Kolkata, April 14 (NationPress) Just nine days prior to the initial phase of elections in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi provided six crucial ‘recommendations’ to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) booth-level workers, according to a source within the party on Tuesday.

It has been reported by BJP officials that PM Modi held a virtual meeting with the workers on Tuesday, where he also took feedback from five selected individuals before sharing his own suggestions for winning the elections in the state.

The virtual interaction was conducted through the NaMo app, with workers instructed beforehand to submit their suggestions via the application. After reviewing these suggestions, the Prime Minister engaged with the five chosen representatives.

The selected individuals included Rina De from the Kasba Assembly constituency; Jura Kindo from Phansidewa; Nilotpal Banerjee from Bankura; Chandan Pradhan from Salbani; and Rakesh Sarkar from Shantipur. The meeting extended for over an hour.

At the beginning of the session, PM Modi connected directly with the booth workers, listening to each of their insights individually.

The first to express her views was Rina, a homemaker from Kasba, who raised concerns regarding the violence against women in the state. PM Modi prompted her for suggestions, after which he heard from the remaining four workers.

Sources indicate that the workers highlighted rampant corruption within the state, mentioning that citizens have not received funds from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Following this, the Prime Minister offered six directives.

He emphasized the need for the workers to concentrate on their booths, stating, “Invest all your efforts into the booths. Prioritize the booths above all else.” He encouraged them to engage with the public and inform voters about the BJP’s manifesto and charge sheet.

During the virtual session, PM Modi urged the workers to foster connections with women and youth, suggesting they hold gatherings with groups of 20–25 women in households.

He advised a thorough review of the manifesto, asking, “What benefits does it offer to women and youth? Familiarize yourself with the manifesto and persuade the public.”

Additionally, PM Modi stressed the importance of going door-to-door to clarify the absence of factories and industries in the state, noting that fear and violence stifle business opportunities.

He also recommended reaching out to the Matuas and Namasudras, stating, “Visit the Matuas’ homes. Approach the Namasudras. The Trinamool is misleading them, claiming that the Modi government has erased their names and threatening their residency in the country.”

Moreover, the Prime Minister remarked, “Those without rights to remain in this country are being assured by the Trinamool of their safety. Inform them that arrangements will be made for the Matuas under the Citizenship Amendment Act. Encourage them not to be afraid.”

PM Modi urged the workers to ensure that the BJP not only secures victory in West Bengal but does so with an increased margin, stating, “Bear in mind that a larger victory margin will bring greater relief to West Bengal. I am confident that this time the Trinamool will decline, and the BJP will rise. Amplify the margin and secure victory.”

In the course of the meeting, he advised the workers to engage more with farmers, particularly potato cultivators. He stated, “Converse with farmers and potato growers. Inform them that syndicates are purchasing potatoes at Rs 2 per kg and selling them at Rs 25 when prices rise, while those who cultivate are denied fair compensation.”

BJP sources report that PM Modi has instructed the workers to compile a list of local crimes to share with the public.
