Bhopal, March 2 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh declared on Monday a 3% rise in the dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees, raising the total to 58%.
On the festive occasion of Holi, Chief Minister Yadav extended warm wishes to nearly 700,000 state government employees across various departments.
Yadav stated, “Effective from April (with payments in May) 2026, all state government employees will receive a 58% dearness allowance in their salaries, aligning with the Government of India. The arrears from July 2025 to March 2026 will be disbursed in 6 equal installments, starting in May 2026.”
The announcement also included that pensioners would receive a 58% dearness allowance on their pensions from January to February 2026. “Our government is committed to the welfare of all communities,” he emphasized.
All government employees will see this 58% dearness allowance reflected in their salaries beginning April (paid in May) 2026, in alignment with national standards. The arrears from July 2025 to March 2026 will be settled in 6 equal installments, commencing in May 2026.
During the cabinet meeting in Barwani, Yadav highlighted that significant decisions were made under the Kisan Kalyan Varsh initiative. He remarked that the measures are aimed at supporting both employee brothers and pensioners.
In the initial agriculture cabinet meeting held in Barwani, the Chief Minister noted how the Barwani-Nimar tribal region, once plagued by drought and migration, has transformed since the deployment of Narmada water supply and irrigation projects. He pointed out that improved farming practices in the Narmada Valley region have contributed to a decrease in general temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius.
