Bhopal, March 2 (NationPress) In a noteworthy move for state government personnel, the BJP-led Madhya Pradesh administration declared on Monday that treasury officers will be permitted to operate hired vehicles during their official hours.

In a statement released late Monday, the government confirmed that Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has approved this initiative, which will be accessible to all treasury officers following a proposal from their ranks.

The Madhya Pradesh Finance Department issued the requisite directives on Monday, stating, “all Treasury officers can start utilizing the hired vehicle facility from April 1, 2026.”

Treasury officers play a crucial role in overseeing the state’s treasury functions, which encompass authorizing bill payments, distributing pensions, and maintaining precise records of financial transactions. They ensure adherence to accounting standards, safeguard valuable items like stamps, and report directly to the Accountant General.

Additionally, Chief Minister Yadav revealed a 3 percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government workers as a festive Holi gesture. This adjustment raises the DA for state employees and pensioners from 55 percent to 58 percent.

Yadav noted that employees will receive the updated 58 percent DA in their April 2026 salaries, which will be distributed in May 2026, aligning with the national government standards.

Moreover, arrears from July 2025 to March 2026 will be compensated in six equal installments commencing in May 2026.

He also announced that all state pensioners will receive 58 percent Dearness Relief, starting from January 2026, with payments scheduled for February 2026.
