Bhopal, June 4 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav criticized the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Wednesday for his remarks referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as having 'surrendered'.

The Chief Minister has called for an apology from Rahul Gandhi for what he deemed disrespectful comments made about Prime Minister Modi.

“This is why Rahul Gandhi is often labeled as Pappu. When will he grow up? He speaks without regard for decorum, damaging not only his own reputation but also undermining the culture of our nation,” the Chief Minister stated in a video message.

On Tuesday, during a speech to Congress workers, Rahul Gandhi claimed that PM Modi had surrendered by agreeing to a ceasefire after intervention from US President Donald Trump to halt military actions against Pakistan.

Speaking to Congress leaders and supporters at Bhopal's Ravindra Bhawan, Rahul Gandhi remarked,

“I’ve come to understand the BJP and RSS well. A little pressure makes them panic and retreat. For instance, when Trump signaled, he (PM Modi) instantly called and said ‘Narender, surrender’, which PM Modi complied with,” said the LoP.

Gandhi further claimed that since India’s independence, the BJP and RSS have been accustomed to writing letters of surrender.

“They yield even under minimal pressure. The Congress stands firm. Leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Sardar Patel are examples of those who never surrendered; they fought against superpowers,” he added.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh BJP chief V.D. Sharma and other BJP leaders in the state have condemned Rahul Gandhi’s statements, labeling him as ‘immature’ and ‘disrespectful’ toward the position of Leader of the Opposition.

“What can we expect from Rahul Gandhi, who lacks respect for his heritage? He came to Bhopal not to strengthen his party but to question the Indian Armed Forces,” Sharma asserted.
