Bhopal, Oct 30 (NationPress) In a groundbreaking move to enhance educational opportunities and promote social justice, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday transferred more than Rs 300 crore directly to the bank accounts of over 5.2 million students as part of the Integrated Scholarship Scheme.
The event took place at Samatva Bhavan in Bhopal, attended by School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh and Tribal Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah.
With one digital click, CM Yadav initiated the fund transfer, representing a pivotal moment in the state's endeavor for inclusive education.
Speaking to students and the public virtually, the Chief Minister emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring that financial barriers do not obstruct educational goals.
The program was streamed live to schools statewide, allowing students and educators to experience the event in real-time.
The Integrated Scholarship Scheme, implemented by the School Education Department under the Integrated Social Security Mission, offers 20 types of scholarships managed by six departments: School Education, Scheduled Caste Welfare, Tribal Welfare, Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Welfare, Backward Classes and Minority Welfare, and Social Justice.
This scheme assists students from classes 1 to 12 enrolled in both government and private schools across the state.
Simultaneous celebrations took place at district and block levels, with eligible students engaging in local scholarship distribution events. MLAs and community representatives participated, underscoring the scheme's importance at the grassroots level.
The Rs 300 crore disbursed includes seven significant scholarships from the School Education Department, such as the General Poor Class Scholarship, Sudama Pre-Metric, Swami Vivekananda Post-Metric, and scholarships for children of retired government employees, fatherless girls, and the only daughter in a family.
These scholarships were approved and processed via the state’s upgraded Education Portal 3.0, ensuring transparency and efficiency. By consolidating multiple welfare departments under one program, the scheme simplifies access and enhances impact, positioning it as a model for educational assistance nationwide.
