Bhopal, Jan 23 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, paid homage to the esteemed freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
CM Yadav presented floral offerings at the statue of the iconic leader located at Subhas Chowk in Bhopal. He was joined by State BJP President V. D. Sharma, the party's state organizational secretary Hitanand Sharma, and several other party dignitaries.
While commemorating Subhas Chandra Bose, CM Yadav remarked that the revered freedom fighter dedicated his entire life to the service of the nation.
He noted that despite successfully passing the Indian Civil Services (ICS) examination, Netaji chose not to serve under the British regime.
"Passing the ICS exam during that era was a significant accomplishment, but Netaji opted for the path of patriotism and fought for India's liberation from British dominion," CM Yadav stated.
Born in 1897, Bose emerged as a charismatic and influential leader, serving as the president of the Congress party in 1938. However, he later parted ways with the party due to his advocacy for establishing a military force to combat India's colonial oppressors.
"Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose assumed the presidency of Congress, but the party was not in favor of him. Subsequently, he formed his own army, the Azad Hind Fauj, to resist British rule," he added.
It is worth mentioning that in 2021, the Modi government officially recognized January 23 as Parakram Diwas (Valour Day) to celebrate the birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose.
This day serves to honor his legacy and encourage citizens, particularly the youth, to emulate his courage and love for the nation.
Plans are also in motion to erect a National Memorial dedicated to Netaji on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep.
During Parakram Diwas 2025, a significant celebration will take place from January 23 to January 25 at Barabati Fort in the historic city of Cuttack, which is the birthplace of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
Renowned for his unwavering spirit, visionary leadership, and commitment to equality, Netaji continues to motivate generations of Indians.
