Bhopal, Dec 27 (NationPress) In a rapid sequence of events that underscore the ongoing internal strife within the Madhya Pradesh Congress party, senior leader and former minister Mukesh Nayak submitted his resignation as the Chairman of the party's Media Department on Saturday. However, the state unit swiftly rejected his resignation.

Nayak, a seasoned Congressman and ex-minister in the Digvijay Singh administration, presented his resignation letter to state president Jitu Patwari, expressing a desire to pave the way for new leadership.

In his correspondence, he referred to a recent meeting of the administrative committee where he advocated for senior members to step back. "I voluntarily resign from my position," Nayak stated. The resignation quickly became a talking point for political adversaries. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took advantage of the situation to criticize Congress, framing it as a sign of deep internal conflicts and disregard for senior figures. A BJP spokesperson highlighted a "tradition in Congress of humiliating and sidelining dedicated workers," asserting that "only sycophants are welcome, while genuine leaders like Nayak are ousted."

Madhya Pradesh BJP Media In-charge Ashish Agarwal escalated the criticism on X, mockingly congratulating Nayak on completing his "challenging" two-year term. He questioned who within Congress values balanced and innovative contributions amidst rampant "factionalism, favoritism, and dynastic politics." Agarwal claimed that Nayak's departure reveals the party's "lack of leadership, coordination, and trust crisis," contrasting it with the BJP's "stable leadership and organizational discipline."

However, the situation took a surprising turn within hours as the Madhya Pradesh Congress officially dismissed Nayak's resignation. An order issued by Organisational General Secretary Sanjay Kamle, following Patwari's directive, instructed Nayak to continue his role actively as Media Department Chairman to strengthen the organization.

The party's announcement on X reflects an attempt to manage the fallout.

Political analysts interpret this incident as indicative of the persistent factional struggles within the MP Congress, which has been striving to regain momentum after a series of electoral setbacks.
