Bhopal, March 9 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel honored the family members of individuals who made the noble decision to donate their organs, providing a new chance at life for others. During a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Governor Patel awarded certificates and mementoes to the families of organ donors, expressing his appreciation for their support of the state government's initiative.
At this event, the Governor also launched an organ donation car rally, organized in collaboration with the Gandhi Medical College (GMC Bhopal) alumni association and the Kiran Foundation.
To motivate more individuals to participate in this cause, the Madhya Pradesh government has declared that those who donate their organs before death will receive state honors during their last rites.
Recently, Chief Minister Yadav announced plans to create a state-level institution aimed at promoting organ and body donation. The government is also set to introduce posthumous awards for donors who help give a new lease of life to others. As an example, two kidneys from a brain-dead individual, identified as Puran Choudhary, were successfully transported via a green corridor in Jabalpur on Friday. One kidney was sent to Bombay Hospital in Indore, approximately 500 km from Jabalpur, while the other was delivered to Baderiya Metro Hospital within the city, ensuring that those in need received a new lease of life.
Puran Choudhary suffered severe head injuries in a road accident and was admitted to Jabalpur Medical College, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
