New Delhi, Jan 31 (NationPress) Numerous politicians, including BJP officials and Union ministers, have expressed their support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Fit India' initiative, highlighting the necessity of adopting a healthy lifestyle to maintain fitness.
During the inauguration of the 38th National Games in Dehradun on January 28, the Prime Minister addressed the growing concern of obesity in the nation, which is becoming increasingly alarming.
While discussing the Fit India Movement, he underscored the significance of exercise and a well-balanced diet, emphasizing the need to cut down on unhealthy fats and oils. He suggested a practical approach by recommending a 10 percent reduction in daily oil consumption.
Union Minister S. P. Singh Baghel remarked to IANS, "Fit India signifies not just a healthy body but also a healthy mind. A sound mind fosters a healthy nation. If we incorporate fitness into our daily lives, we can shield ourselves from illnesses."
Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary added, "It is commendable that MPs host sports activities, and we should draw motivation from the Prime Minister's message regarding our health, particularly for the youth."
BJP MP Ravi Kishan stated on the Fit India initiative, "Absolutely. Everyone should aim to reduce their food intake. Initially, we should focus on eating less frequently. Overeating must stop."
