Bhopal, May 29 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, expressed on Thursday that his administration is deeply dedicated to fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Vocal for Local'.
He remarked that this initiative plays a crucial role in safeguarding the nation's traditional handicrafts, folk arts, and cultural heritage.
Furthermore, it empowers artisans by fostering self-reliance and independence through the promotion of local products, he stated.
These comments were made by Chief Minister Yadav during the opening ceremony of the 'Craftroutes' Handicrafts Exhibition at Bhopal Haat, in the esteemed company of Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel.
He noted that the Craftroutes exhibition marks a significant step towards women empowerment, symbolizing the commencement of a larger celebration.
“The handicrafts from various regions of our state possess unique identities and allure. Events like these enable regional products to attain broader recognition and offer artisans opportunities to expand their businesses,” he added.
Chief Minister Yadav also highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing industrial activities, ranging from large-scale industries to cottage industries.
“Industries that generate employment are receiving special encouragement within the state. Handicrafts serve as a viable alternative to plastic, and support for such products is essential not only from governments and institutions but also at the individual level,” he remarked.
In his address, he also pointed out that the nation is commemorating the 300th birth anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar, a remarkable figure in women empowerment and self-reliance.
“It is a source of pride for the people of Madhya Pradesh that Prime Minister Modi will attend the Women Empowerment Conference to be held in Bhopal on this momentous occasion,” concluded CM Yadav.
