Mumbai, March 25 (NationPress) A shocking and disturbing incident has emerged from the Sakinaka locality in Mumbai, where a man is accused of orchestrating the murder of his wife to maintain a relationship with his mistress. Allegedly, he paid Rs 6.70 lakh for the contract killing and tried to disguise the act as a suicide.

The case was initially considered an accidental death and was about to be closed when the victim's father raised doubts, leading to a significant breakthrough.

As reported by the Sakinaka Police, four individuals have been detained in relation to this case, including the husband, identified as Sakaram Chaudhary (36), along with Shankar Dangi (36), Babu (alias Raghav alias Amarchand Gayri) (22), and Dinesh Gayri (20).

The tragic event occurred on October 14, 2024, when authorities were alerted about the discovery of 34-year-old Narangi (alias Geeta Chaudhary), whose body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her kitchen in Sangharsh Nagar, Sakinaka. Initially, the police filed an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and began an inquiry, suspecting suicide. The body underwent a post-mortem examination, but medical professionals could not ascertain the precise cause of death.

After the preliminary procedures, the body was transported to Rajasthan for burial. However, the victim's father, Bhanaram Chaudhary (66), expressed his belief that foul play was involved and insisted that his daughter did not commit suicide. Acting on his allegations, a case was registered in Rajasthan, redirecting the investigation.

The body was subsequently exhumed for a second autopsy, which revealed that the woman had been murdered through strangulation with an orange rope. This led the Rajasthan Police to file a Zero FIR and transfer the case to the Sakinaka Police for further inquiry.

Upon taking over the investigation, the Mumbai Police established a special team. DCP Datta Nalawade of Zone 10 disclosed that the accused husband had made two previous attempts on his wife’s life before the fatal incident. The first involved staging a road accident in Powai, and the second entailed a physical assault, both of which were unsuccessful.

Determined to carry out his plan, the husband devised a third scheme. He allegedly hired his accomplice, Shankar Dangi, for Rs 6.70 lakh to commit the murder, who subsequently enlisted Babu and Dinesh. On that fateful day, the four men strangled the victim and then hung her body to create the illusion of suicide.

During the inquiry, Sakaram initially misled investigators during several rounds of questioning. However, after intense interrogation during the fourth session, he confessed to the crime, revealing that his motivation stemmed from his relationship with another woman, Dimple Chaudhary, as he wanted to remove his wife, whom he perceived as an obstacle.

Law enforcement officials noted that without the father's relentless questioning and demand for a second autopsy, the case may have been dismissed as a suicide. The investigation ultimately unveiled a carefully orchestrated and horrifying conspiracy.
