New Delhi, April 25 (NationPress) In a concerning incident along the India-Pakistan border following the Pahalgam terror attack, a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was taken into custody by Pakistan Rangers for allegedly crossing the international boundary.

Expressing optimism for his safe return, BJP leader Dilip Ghosh stated that the entire nation stands behind him.

In an interview with IANS, Ghosh remarked, "The situation, whether accidental or not, unfolded in a zone where it is challenging to pinpoint the precise boundary, especially during patrols through forests and mountainous terrains. One must exercise caution in such scenarios. Considering the existing tensions between the two nations, both sides are on high alert, and our military remains fully prepared."

He also referenced a notable past incident: "If this was an accidental crossing, the central government is managing the situation diplomatically, akin to how they successfully negotiated the return of our fighter pilot, Abhinandan. I am certain that he will also return safely, and the entire nation stands with our armed forces."

The incident occurred near the Punjab border and is thought to have happened while the jawan was on a routine patrol. Officials confirmed on Thursday that the jawan inadvertently crossed into Pakistani territory and was subsequently apprehended by the Rangers.

Efforts are currently in progress for his secure and prompt release. "Discussions between the border forces of both nations are ongoing to facilitate the jawan's return," an official mentioned.

This incident arises amidst increased tensions following a severe terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

Ghosh also commented on the national response to such attacks, stating, "It's encouraging that everyone is prepared to respond to terrorism with unity. In the past, we observed varied responses across the nation. We used to witness similar scenarios in Bangladesh, where our BSF was captured and treated harshly. Those times are behind us. Bangladesh will improve, Pakistan will improve, and I am hopeful that this will mark the end of violent incidents in Jammu and Kashmir."
