Key Takeaways
Bhubaneswar, April 5 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition, Naveen Patnaik, took part in the self-enumeration initiative of the Digital Census that began in Odisha on April 1.
He called upon the residents to engage in the Census 2027 effort to secure a prosperous future for the state.
"Today, I joined the 'Digital Census' initiative that has launched across the nation and completed my self-registration. Only by providing accurate information can we effectively design welfare programs for the future. Let’s come together in this initiative and be part of crafting a bright future for our state," Patnaik stated on his X handle.
Previously, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and several prominent leaders also provided their details on the self-enumeration portal for Census 2027 ahead of the door-to-door survey.
It is important to mention that the Census initiative in the state is being executed in collaboration with the Directorate of Census Operations, Odisha, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and the Revenue and Disaster Management Department of the Government of Odisha. The initial phase of the Census - House Listing and Housing Census - is set to commence on April 16.
During this phase, trained enumerators and supervisors will visit homes and gather data from April 16 to May 15.
Before this, the self-enumeration phase is ongoing from April 1 until midnight on April 15.
Through this program, citizens are submitting their information independently via the self-enumeration portal (https://se.census.gov.in).
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has also appealed to citizens to assist in the successful execution of Census 2027 by sharing their information on the self-enumeration portal prior to the door-to-door survey.
“I urge everyone who has not yet submitted their information to do so through this portal and participate in the Census. I have also completed my self-enumeration. You should follow suit,” Majhi stated.
“Starting April 16, trained enumerators will begin visiting households to collect data. This information is crucial for planning and executing development programs for our state and the nation. Thus, I encourage all of you to cooperate and help make this program a success,” he added.
