Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bhubaneswar, April 3 (NationPress) Odisha's Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, has called on residents to actively participate in the upcoming Census 2027 by providing their information through the self-enumeration portal before the door-to-door enumeration begins.
The Census initiative is being executed in collaboration with the Directorate of Census Operations, Odisha, as part of the Ministry of Home Affairs under the Government of India, alongside the Revenue and Disaster Management Department of Odisha.
The initial phase of the Census, which includes the House Listing and Housing Census, is set to commence on April 16. During this period, trained enumerators and supervisors will engage with households to gather data from April 16 to May 15. Prior to this, the self-enumeration phase is running from April 1 to April 15.
Citizens can submit their information independently via the self-enumeration portal at https://se.census.gov.in.
“I urge each of you to submit your details through this portal if you haven't already, and support the Census process. I have completed my own self-enumeration, and I encourage you to do the same,” stated Majhi.
“Starting from April 16, trained enumerators will visit your homes to collect vital information. This data is crucial for the planning and execution of development initiatives both for our state and the nation. Hence, I implore everyone to cooperate and help make this program a success,” he added.
Majhi reiterated that the state government has implemented all necessary measures to ensure the successful execution of the Census 2027. He asked residents to provide accurate information when enumerators arrive at their homes, as it contributes significantly to both state and national development.
“I appeal to you, on behalf of the Government of Odisha, for your complete involvement in the success of this national initiative,” Majhi expressed.
Additionally, the Odisha government has instructed all departments, district administrations, and urban local bodies to avoid transferring officials and staff involved in census duties to guarantee the effective completion of Census 2027. The government has undertaken comprehensive preparations to facilitate a smooth census operation.
