He reflected on the outstanding contributions of NCC cadets during Operation Sindoor, where almost 72,000 cadets volunteered for civil defense, showcasing their commitment, bravery, and readiness to assist the nation in challenging times.
Moreover, the Vice President remarked that the NCC is continually shaping responsible and service-focused youth, the foundation of Viksit Bharat@2047.
He noted that the NCC camp represents India's unity, constitutional principles, and potential future leadership, especially through the exemplary actions of cadets during Operation Sindoor and in disaster relief initiatives.
Radhakrishnan underscored the importance of Republic Day, stating that the NCC Republic Day Camp embodies the constitutional values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, as cadets from various states and union territories train together, demonstrating the essence of national unity.
The Vice President applauded the NCC cadets for their achievements in adventure sports, international youth exchange programs, environmental efforts, and disaster relief, including their notable service during the floods in Wayanad, Kerala.
Upon his arrival, the Vice President inspected a Guard of Honour presented by NCC cadets. He toured the Hall of Fame and was informed about the NCC’s legacy, accomplishments, and evolution. The Vice President also explored exhibition stalls showcasing initiatives like the YUVA Aapda Mitra Scheme and Drone Training, appreciating the organization's dedication to disaster readiness and the adoption of new technologies. He later enjoyed a cultural presentation by the cadets and interacted with them, praising their discipline, enthusiasm, and national pride.
This year’s RD camp includes participation from 2,406 cadets, with 127 cadets from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and 131 cadets from the Northeast Region. Cadets and officers from 25 friendly nations will also participate in the Youth Exchange Programme (YEP), as per the statement.
Set in Delhi Cantonment, the camp will welcome numerous dignitaries, including the Defence Minister, the Chief Minister of Delhi, the Defence Secretary, the Chief of Defence Staff, and the chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
The activities will culminate with the PM’s Rally on January 28.
