Did NCP Unveil Ajit Pawar's Final Campaign Video to Rally Voter Support?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 5 (NationPress) - On Thursday, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) shared a poignant video featuring the late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. This recording was made in connection with the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti election campaign in Maharashtra.
The campaign for 12 Zilla Parishads and 125 Panchayat Samitis wrapped up on Thursday, with voting slated for February 7 and the counting of votes on February 9.
In the video, Ajit Pawar earnestly encouraged voters to support the NCP.
This 1 minute and 28-second clip was filmed at his Devagiri residence just four days before his untimely death on January 28, following a tragic plane crash in Baramati.
In his address, Pawar underscored the significance of rural development, farmers’ welfare, women’s empowerment, youth employment, and essential amenities.
He remarked that now is a critical moment for voters to decide who should be responsible for the development of their villages, talukas, and districts.
“The Zilla Parishad holds the key to rural advancement. This body is directly involved with fundamental issues such as water supply, road connectivity, healthcare, education, agriculture, and job creation,” he stated.
“The NCP has consistently prioritized rural areas, tackling everything from farmers’ concerns to women’s empowerment, youth employment, and respect for the elderly with utmost seriousness,” Ajit Pawar asserted.
“I am not merely a man of promises; I am a man of action. Upholding my commitments defines who I am,” he added.
Moreover, Ajit Pawar expressed the party’s resolve to introduce modern technology, artificial intelligence, and digital solutions for vital services like water management, road construction, healthcare, and agriculture in rural regions.
He urged voters to back the NCP candidates in the upcoming elections.
“Grant us the opportunity for transparent, effective, and citizen-focused governance. We will uphold your trust. The funding for development initiatives will remain robust. This is my assurance,” he concluded.
In related news, Maharashtra NCP chief Sunil Tatkare subtly criticized the Sharad Pawar-led faction for suggesting a merger between the two NCP groups.
“Why was the merger discussed in the same vicinity as Ajit Pawar’s body was laid for last rites? Why did some leaders make impulsive statements about the merger in interviews prior to the funeral?” he questioned.
“Sunetra Pawar's swearing-in and the merger were distinct matters. Did the merger discussions imply appointing someone else as Deputy Chief Minister?” he queried.
Tatkare confirmed that decisions regarding the party’s national presidency will be made only after considering the feelings of all party MLAs, officials, and supporters.
Regarding Ajit Pawar’s tragic plane crash, Tatkare has called for a comprehensive investigation by the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation.
He also emphasized the necessity for a high-level inquiry into the crash to bring the truth to light as soon as possible.
