Chennai, Feb 26 (NationPress) Senior BJP figure and Union Home Minister Amit Shah has declared that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will take charge of the government in Tamil Nadu following the 2026 Legislative Assembly elections.

While inaugurating a BJP office in Coimbatore on Wednesday, Shah called on party members to gear up for a BJP-led NDA administration in the state.

He asserted that the forthcoming government would eradicate nepotism and corruption, paving the way for a phase of development.

Amit Shah took aim at Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, rejecting his claims that the Central government was withholding funds. He pointed out that the Modi-led government had allocated Rs five lakh crore to Tamil Nadu over the last five years, a figure significantly higher than what was provided during the UPA era.

Attacking the ruling DMK, Minister Shah claimed that its leaders were heavily implicated in corruption.

He alleged that while one DMK member was caught up in a cash-for-jobs scandal, another was linked to illegal sand mining and money laundering.

He further noted that several leaders were facing cases related to disproportionate assets. “All those involved in corruption should consider joining the DMK,” Minister Shah quipped.

The Union Home Minister also accused CM Stalin and his son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, of bringing up distraction tactics to divert public attention from genuine issues.

He specifically mentioned CM Stalin’s call for an all-party meeting on March 5 to discuss the impending delimitation process.

Shah assured that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had already confirmed that no parliamentary seats would be diminished for southern states due to delimitation.

He stressed that the reconfiguration of constituencies according to population metrics would not impact the representation of Lok Sabha MPs from southern states.

He charged the DMK government with unnecessarily escalating worries regarding the delimitation procedure to overshadow pressing governance matters.

The delimitation exercise, set to occur next year, has emerged as a significant point of disagreement between the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government and the BJP-led Centre.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Stalin announced an all-party gathering on March 5 to discuss the matter.
