The initiative aims to ensure accessible health services for all citizens.
A newly launched Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Neemuch city, Madhya Pradesh, is proving to be a blessing for the community. The centre offers medicines at prices up to 70 percent lower than typical market rates, attracting hundreds of visitors each day.
Naveen Jain, a resident of Vikas Nagar in Neemuch, expressed his appreciation for the initiative.
In an interview with IANS, he remarked that the medicines at Jan Aushadhi Kendras are significantly cheaper than those available elsewhere.
He stated, "Here, the savings range from 10 to 70 percent. This is a remarkable advancement for our nation. We hope to see such centres established everywhere in the future. We are sincerely grateful to PM Modi for this."
Govind Jaiswal, the director and pharmacist of the Neemuch Jan Aushadhi Kendra, noted, "We provide affordable and quality medicines here. Discounts of 10 to 70 percent are offered, which is particularly advantageous for the elderly. Previously, many seniors would spend between 2,500 to 3,000 rupees monthly on medications, which can now be managed for only 1,000 rupees."
He added that this centre meets the daily needs of hundreds of individuals.
The government has set an ambitious goal of launching 25,000 Janaushadhi Kendras across the nation by March 2026. New applications for establishing additional Janaushadhi Kendras in various districts can be submitted via the official PMBI website.
The product range offered by PMBJP includes 1,963 medicines and 293 surgical devices, covering all key therapeutic categories such as Cardiovascular, Anti-cancers, Anti-diabetics, Anti-infectives, Anti-allergic, Gastro-intestinal medicines, Nutraceuticals, and more.
