Neeraj Kumar Criticizes Tejashwi Yadav Over 'DK Tax' Remarks

Patna, Jan 13 (NationPress) The political climate in Bihar has become increasingly charged after the Leader of Opposition (LoP), Tejashwi Yadav, raised concerns about the so-called 'DK Tax'. In response, the chief spokesperson of the JD-U took to social media to spotlight what he claims were different types of 'taxes' during the rule of Lalu-Rabri.
He accused the Opposition of normalizing corruption and extortion throughout their governance.
In his post, Neeraj Kumar created acronyms to characterize these supposed practices, including DT: Dabangai Tax (Tax of coercion), KT: Kidnapping Tax, and RT: Extortion Tax.
Additionally, he referenced ‘LT’, ‘TT’, ‘MT’, and ‘ST’, suggesting these were also informal 'taxes' levied on the populace during the RJD's administration.
He elaborated: 'If you attempt to guess, the meanings will become clear. DT, AT, RT, LT, TT, MT, and ST tax — certain individuals imposed their tax on everything. The citizens of Bihar are informed; they are aware of everything.'
Neeraj Kumar’s remarks serve as a strategic move to counter Tejashwi Yadav’s assertions, redirecting the conversation towards the alleged wrongdoings and strong-arm tactics seen during the RJD’s previous governance.
The reference to these 'taxes' encapsulates claims of lawlessness and extortion commonly linked to the Lalu-Rabri period.
As the state Assembly elections loom, such exchanges indicate an escalating conflict over public opinion.
Tejashwi Yadav recently accused the Bihar government of being operated by retired officials, indirectly targeting associates of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
He alleged these officials were enabling corruption, dubbing it 'DK tax', without naming specific individuals.
This follows a trend where previously, when RCP Singh was part of the JD-U, Tejashwi had introduced the term 'RCP tax'. However, RJD leaders refrained from making direct connections to Singh at that time.
Ashok Choudhary, the Minister of Rural Works, added to the controversy by coining phrases like 'Mama Tax' and 'Sala Tax', ridiculing the Opposition and insinuating corruption during the RJD’s governance.
Figures like Neeraj Kumar and Ashok Choudhary have been vocally criticizing Tejashwi and the RJD by reminding the public of the alleged corruption and mismanagement during the Lalu-Rabri era.
