Patna, Jan 21 (NationPress) The unfortunate demise of a NEET aspirant in a Patna hostel has led her father to file a First Information Report (FIR) at the Gandhi Maidan police station. He has alleged a conspiracy, mental harassment, and murder.
In the FIR, the father has accused a young man and his associates of being part of a conspiracy that allegedly resulted in his daughter’s death.
He has firmly dismissed the suicide narrative, asserting that his daughter experienced mental harassment and was ultimately killed, demanding a fair, unbiased, and comprehensive investigation into the situation.
Conversely, the Patna police have classified the case as a suicide, referencing initial findings from the post-mortem report.
Central Superintendent of Police (SP) Diksha noted that the student, hailing from Aurangabad district, was discovered deceased on January 6 at the Perfect Hostel, located within the jurisdiction of the Gandhi Maidan police station.
Upon receiving the information, police promptly arrived at the scene and sent the body for a post-mortem examination. An FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) team was also dispatched to assess the area.
The SP revealed that during a search of the student's room, authorities retrieved a handwritten note and a mobile phone, both of which have been secured as evidence.
Despite this, the family proceeded to file an FIR, implicating a young man and others in the incident.
According to police reports, the named suspect has been apprehended and is undergoing interrogation.
“The investigation has indicated that the suspect was linked to the incident and was present at the scene. The student had also been in contact with him prior. This matter is under detailed scrutiny,” Central SP Diksha stated.
She further added that the allegations against other individuals mentioned by the family are also being investigated. Technical evidence is being gathered, with the seized note, mobile phone, and clothing sent for forensic analysis.
“Preliminary findings suggest that the student was under academic pressure and had discussed these concerns with her family. It appears she was dissatisfied with her studies, and this angle is also under investigation,” Diksha said.
Police officials confirmed that the investigation is comprehensive, examining all available evidence, including the post-mortem findings, forensic analysis, technical insights, and family statements to determine the precise circumstances surrounding the student’s death.
The post-mortem report indicated that the cause of death was hanging.
