Neighbor Allegedly Slaughters 28 Pet Pigeons in Gwalior, MP

Gwalior, Jan 9 (NationPress) In a shocking display of cruelty, a man is accused of slaughtering 28 pet pigeons belonging to his neighbor in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior.
This horrifying event unfolded in Scindia Nagar on Wednesday night.
The victim, Kajal Rai, reported to the authorities that she owned 50 domesticated pigeons on her terrace, of which 28 were brutally killed by her neighbor, Mohit Khan.
According to Kajal, she noticed some unusual sounds coming from her terrace on Wednesday night, prompting her to investigate. Upon arriving, she discovered Mohit Khan present there.
“When I confronted him about why he was on my terrace, he quickly fled back to his home,” she stated.
As she examined the area further, she found that 28 pigeons had been mercilessly killed, while the remaining birds were hiding, unable to fly due to fear.
Kajal expressed to the police that Mohit Khan had frequently raised objections regarding her pigeons.
The ongoing presence of the pigeons had led to a series of disputes between Kajal and Mohit, as confirmed by police reports.
After receiving the complaint, law enforcement notified the District Forest Officials in Gwalior, who subsequently took the deceased birds for an autopsy.
The autopsy findings indicated that the pigeons were killed by twisting their necks.
“The forest officials then proceeded to bury the deceased pigeons,” said the police.
Authorities have filed a case against Mohit Khan and are actively searching for him.
He is facing charges under Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960 and Section 325 of BNS.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Niranjan Sharma confirmed, “An FIR has been filed against Mohit Khan based on the complaint, as he has been charged with cruelty towards birds.”
