NIA Files Charges Against Two Associates of Khalistani Terrorist Landa in Punjab Terrorism Case

New Delhi, Dec 18 (NationPress) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) reported on Wednesday that it has submitted a charge sheet against two significant associates of the identified terrorist Lakhbir Singh, commonly known as Landa, who is associated with the outlawed Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) organization. The documentation was filed on Tuesday at the NIA Special Court in Mohali, Punjab.

The individuals implicated, Jaspreet Singh alias Jass, from the Ferozepur district in Punjab, and Baljeet Singh alias Rana Bhai from Badwani district in Madhya Pradesh, are accused of being active participants in a terrorist network led by the foreign-based Khalistani terrorist Landa, as indicated by the NIA.

The investigation by the NIA disclosed Jaspreet Singh's vital involvement as an on-ground operative for Landa and his accomplice, Pattu Khaira.

He was deeply engaged in the execution of the gang's operations, which encompassed drug trafficking and an extortion racket aimed at generating funds for BKI's activities.

As per the NIA, Baljeet Singh played a crucial role in the production and distribution of weapons to members of Landa's gang and affiliated criminals.

He allegedly utilized social media platforms to facilitate the transportation of these firearms across multiple areas. Baljeet was identified as a principal supplier within a nationwide network of arms dealers connected to the gang.

During the investigation, NIA officials confiscated a significant stockpile of arms, ammunition, narcotics, drug money, digital devices, and other incriminating materials associated with the accused.

This case is part of a wider initiative to combat terror conspiracies with international connections.

The NIA has stated that the investigation remains ongoing, aiming to divulge additional information regarding the terror organization's operations, financing, and allies.

The Home Ministry has classified Lakhbir Singh Landa, a 33-year-old gangster based in Canada, as a terrorist under the stringent anti-terror law UAPA.

Landa was implicated in a rocket assault on the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali in 2021, among other terrorist acts, according to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

Landa escaped to Canada in 2017. The MHA recognizes him as a member of the infamous Khalistani faction, BKI.
