Jammu, March 12 (NationPress) On Thursday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted extensive raids at various sites in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir as part of an investigation into a terror funding case.

Officials reported that multiple locations within the district were targeted in connection with activities related to terrorism and its funding.

Sources indicated that these searches took place at several properties owned by individuals suspected of involvement in terrorist activities and their associated funding networks.

According to official statements, these raids are a part of a broader investigation concerning alleged financial support given to terrorist organizations operating in the area.

The NIA teams, supported by local police and security personnel, undertook these searches to collect evidence such as financial transactions, communication logs, and other pertinent materials related to the ongoing case.

These operations commenced early in the morning across the district. Investigators are currently scrutinizing documents, digital devices, and additional items believed to be connected to funding activities for terrorism.

The agency has ramped up its scrutiny of significant terror-related cases, narco-terrorism operations, and violent incidents within the union territory throughout 2025-2026.

Among the active investigations by the NIA is the April 22, 2025, attack in Pahalgam, which tragically led to the deaths of 26 tourists. The agency has taken charge of this case, resulting in the arrest of local accomplices and the identification of militants linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), including a former member of the Pakistani Special Service Group (SSG).

In June 2025, the NIA executed extensive raids at 32 different locations in Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on overground workers (OGWs) associated with various terrorist factions.

The agency is actively engaged in dismantling narco-terror networks that finance terrorism, with recent operations leading to the arrest of a key suspect in a 2020 case and the confiscation of drugs and cash. The investigations are targeting handlers based in Pakistan who are involved in trafficking drugs and weapons.

The NIA continues its pursuit of cases linked to conspiracies aimed at waging war against India, which includes taking action against separatist leaders and their affiliates.

Recent efforts have included filing charges in the 2020 murder of Advocate Babar Qadri.

Additionally, the NIA has seized properties in Kashmir belonging to individuals implicated in terror networks with the objective of disrupting their operations.

Collaborating closely with J&K Police, the agency is focused on dismantling these networks, particularly targeting their logistical support and financial backing for terrorist activities.
