Kolkata, April 26 (NationPress) Officials from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) engaged in discussions on Saturday with the widow and daughter of the late Samir Guha, a central government employee and one of the three tourists from West Bengal who lost their lives in the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir.

The NIA team visited Guha’s home located in Sakher Bazar, Behala, Kolkata, and conducted interviews lasting over four hours.

Both family members were present with Guha during the horrific attack that targeted Hindu tourists.

Reports indicate that the NIA officials sought details from Guha’s widow and daughter regarding their observations during the terrorist assault. They aimed to gather an estimate of the number of attackers they saw during the incident.

Guha had traveled to Kashmir for a holiday with his wife and daughter, with plans to return to Kolkata this week. Upon returning, his widow confirmed to reporters that her late husband was one of those specifically targeted by the masked terrorists after being identified as a Hindu.

Furthermore, sources revealed that NIA officials also plan to interview the widows and children of the other two West Bengal tourists, Bitan Adhikari and Manish Ranjan Mishra, who were also victims of the Pahalgam attack.

While Mishra served as a Central Intelligence Bureau officer, Adhikari was residing in Florida, USA. The families of both Mishra and Adhikari were present in Pahalgam during the attack.

On the same day, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared a compensation of Rs 10 lakhs for each victim's family. She also announced compensation for the family of Havaldar Jhantu Ali Sheikh, a paratrooper who was martyred in a terrorist ambush in the Basantgarh area of Udhampur district, Jammu & Kashmir, earlier that week, who hailed from Tehatta in Nadia district.
