Patna, Aug 12 (NationPress) The National President of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) and former Bihar minister, Mukesh Sahani, declared on Tuesday that the votes of the Nishad community will no longer be traded but will be awarded solely to those dedicated to their betterment.
While addressing a workers’ gathering in Khagaria, Sahani stated, “In the past, Nishad votes were purchased with liquor and money, and afterwards, our needs were ignored. Today, we’ve demonstrated that Nishads will not only catch fish but will also elect MLAs and form governments.”
He emphasized that his party adheres to the principles set forth by RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, which emphasize the empowerment of the underprivileged.
“Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar granted us the right to vote following independence, allowing us to select our own governance. Currently, there are attempts to undermine this right through Special Intensive Revision,” Sahani asserted.
He urged party members to safeguard their voting rights and rally support.
“Travel from village to village, raise awareness, and help establish a Mahagathbandhan government. With our government in place, we will resolve our issues, and tomorrow will be brighter for everyone,” he stated.
Sahani noted that historically, leaders emerged from royal lineages, whereas today, Prime Ministers and Chief Ministers are elected based on the strength of votes.
He highlighted the importance of unity, reminding workers that elections are approaching this year and preparations must commence immediately.
Under Mukesh Sahani's leadership, VIP is a significant partner in Bihar's Grand Alliance.
He, alongside leaders like Tejashwi Yadav and Dipankar Bhattacharya, has been actively addressing discrepancies in the SIR process.
They plan to launch a Vote Rights Yatra in Bihar starting August 17 to enlighten the public about the ongoing SIR situation.
The Yatra will kick off in Rohtas and traverse 23 districts, culminating at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan on September 31.
