Patna, May 21 (NationPress) Mukesh Sahani, the head of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) and a former minister in Bihar, has criticized the BJP and the NDA government following a controversial statement made by party state chief Dilip Jaiswal.
Jaiswal mockingly stated that the members of the Nishad community would not be carrying bags for individuals arriving from Mumbai.
In his response, Sahani pointed out that those advocating for their community's future are often disparaged as "bag carriers," yet he accused Nishad leaders within the BJP of being the ones to carry the "BJP’s metaphorical bags."
During a recent event in Muzaffarpur, Dilip Jaiswal claimed that the Nishad community would not be responsible for carrying the bags of people from Mumbai.
Mukesh Sahani, a well-known set designer in Bollywood, holds significant influence in the industry. He established a political party in Bihar just prior to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In the 2020 Bihar assembly elections, his party, VIP, secured four seats while contesting 11 as part of the NDA.
“The NDA government has not fulfilled its long-standing promise to form the Nishad Commission during its two-decade tenure in power. Why are they now considering this?” Sahani questioned.
Reiterating VIP’s dedication to ensuring reservations for the Nishad community in Bihar, Sahani cautioned the BJP against misleading them.
He stressed that the Nishad community is politically astute and will not be easily swayed.
Regarding the election coalition, Sahani dismissed any internal disputes over seat-sharing within the INDIA Bloc.
“We have enough seats to accommodate all allies within the INDIA Bloc. This time, a leader from the Extremely Backward Class (EBC) will be appointed as Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister,” Sahani stated.
The INDIA Bloc consists of six parties, with RJD being the largest partner. Other parties involved include Congress, CPI-ML, CPI, CPI (M), and VIP.
