Patna, March 1 (NationPress) On his 75th birthday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday distributed appointment letters to 59,028 contractual teachers who successfully cleared the Sakshamta Pariksha-2.

The ceremony took place at the Samvad Room of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Patna.

Among the 59,028 successful candidates, 55,845 are primary teachers, 2,532 are secondary teachers, and 651 are higher secondary teachers.

CM Nitish presented appointment letters to 100 selected teachers from five districts including Patna, Bhojpur, Jehanabad, Vaishali, and Saran, with twenty teachers from each district receiving their letters directly from the CM.

The remaining successful candidates will obtain their appointment letters in their respective districts.

With this appointment, the new teachers are now officially recognized as state employees under the Education Department.

They are designated as 'Special Teachers', which represents a significant advancement in enhancing Bihar's education system.

This historic recruitment initiative is anticipated to bolster Bihar's education sector and offer essential employment opportunities to qualified educators.

Upon receiving their letters, these teachers will report to their respective schools and commence their duties.

The District Education Officer (DEO) will issue separate orders regarding their school placements.

Following the appointment of 59,028 teachers, the Bihar government is preparing for another substantial teachers' recruitment initiative.

The Education Department is gearing up to present another festive opportunity to candidates selected in the third phase of the Bihar Public Service Commission teacher recruitment.

A grand event is scheduled for March 9 at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, where approximately 66,000 contractual teachers will receive their appointment letters personally from CM Nitish.

In the third phase, at least 21,911 candidates have been chosen for teaching classes 1 to 5, 16,989 for classes 6 to 8, 15,421 for classes 9 to 10, and 12,479 for classes 11 to 12, who will all be receiving appointment letters.

Additional Chief Secretary of Education S. Siddharth has directed all District Magistrates (DMs) to initiate preparations for the distribution process.
