New Delhi, Jan 8 (NationPress) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that Delhi is preparing for a significant drop in temperatures and intense weather conditions, as a cold wave is anticipated to impact the national capital during the second week of January.
Temperatures may fall to as low as 5 degrees Celsius.
On Wednesday, a minimum temperature of 8 degrees Celsius is forecasted, with the maximum temperature not exceeding 16 degrees Celsius throughout the day.
Meanwhile, the struggle with the worsening Air Quality Index (AQI) continues in Delhi-NCR, with the city waking up to an AQI of 322 according to the Central Government's Sameer App.
Other cities in the National Capital Region (NCR) are faring slightly better, with AQIs recorded at 176, 192, 212, 229, and 196 in Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad, respectively.
The IMD's forecast indicates minimum and maximum temperatures around 8.05 °C and 21.63 °C, respectively.
The current relative humidity stands at 28 percent, with wind speeds reaching 28 km/h. The sky remains clear, offering a mixed weather outlook as per IMD predictions. The sun rose at 7:15 a.m. and is expected to set at 5:40 p.m.
On air quality, Wednesday's AQI was 158.0, indicating a moderate level.
