Noida, April 18 (NationPress) The police in Noida have made significant progress by apprehending two individuals accused of shooting a man in the head after a minor dispute over traffic. The incident occurred in the Noida Sector 63 area and came to public attention on Friday when the victim filed a complaint with the authorities.
Following the report, the police quickly initiated an investigation. According to the information released by the police, two unidentified young men traveling in a Fortuner SUV engaged in a confrontation with a local resident from the victim’s village regarding right of way on the road. The argument escalated rapidly, leading one of the suspects to discharge a firearm.
The victim sustained critical injuries as a result of the shooting. In response to the complaint, the Noida Sector-63 police promptly registered a case.
Given the gravity of the situation, the police launched an urgent investigation, reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity and successfully identifying the Fortuner vehicle involved.
During their investigation, officers identified the two suspects. One is Vikas Kumar, originally from Bulandshahr but currently residing in Noida’s Sector-71. The second suspect, Lalit Kumar, hails from Khalispur Bhatoni village under the jurisdiction of Malipur police station in Ambedkar Nagar.
Both individuals have been arrested, and police recovered the Fortuner car linked to the shooting, a licensed pistol, 13 live cartridges, a spent cartridge shell, and a firearm license from their possession.
Authorities have revealed that they are also probing the criminal history of the suspects, promising strict legal action.
DCP Shakti Mohan Avasthy confirmed that the incident occurred in the Sector-63 area and that both suspects are now in custody.
He also mentioned that the victim is currently in stable condition and that the accused have been remanded to jail.
