New Delhi, July 31 (NationPress) - Two individuals have been apprehended for allegedly firing at a family after they requested the duo to stop honking in the Kamla Market area of Delhi. The suspects, known as Mohd Amaan and Noman, both 19 years old and residents of Brahampuri, were reported by Deputy Commissioner of Police Nidhin Valsan in a statement on Thursday.
The authorities recovered a pistol, a spent cartridge, and a scooter used during the incident.
This event took place on July 25 near Mohalla Nihariyan Chowk, Ajmeri Gate, Delhi.
According to the victim’s account, he was traveling to his in-laws’ residence with his wife and children on a motorcycle when the two suspects on a white Suzuki Burgman scooter obstructed their path.
When his wife confronted them about the honking, the rider of the scooter hurled abuses, and the pillion rider subsequently opened fire before escaping, the victim reported.
Following the victim's complaint, a case was filed under the pertinent sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act.
Regarding the operation, the police stated that a team led by Sub-Inspector Parminder was established to locate the accused. Thanks to prompt action and examination of the area's CCTV footage, the suspects were successfully tracked down and arrested, according to the police.
Earlier this month, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Crime Branch, Delhi Police, detained an emerging gangster, Shivam alias Laddu, in the Jahangirpuri area of the capital.
During questioning, Shivam confessed to being engaged in an ongoing gang rivalry with a rival gang member, Aryan alias Gullu.
He disclosed that he had attempted to eliminate Aryan, fearing an impending assault on himself.
