Guwahati/Agartala, Sep 9 (NationPress) Governors, Chief Ministers, and prominent leaders from the Northeastern states expressed their congratulations to C.P. Radhakrishnan on his election as the Vice President of India. They highlighted that his extensive knowledge and rich experience will significantly enhance and uphold the democratic values of the nation.
Elected as the 15th Vice President of India, Radhakrishnan received 452 votes, defeating the Opposition nominee, former Supreme Court Justice B. Sudarshan Reddy, who garnered 300 votes in the election held last Tuesday.
Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to his official X account to say: “On behalf of the people of Assam, I warmly congratulate Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan ji on his election to the Vice Presidency.”
“With his wealth of experience and deep-rooted values in Indian culture, Radhakrishnan ji will bring immense value to this esteemed office and serve as a commendable custodian of the Upper House. I extend my gratitude to all NDA partners and others for their decisive support in this mandate,” Sarma added.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha also shared his thoughts on X: “Congratulations to NDA’s candidate, Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan ji, on being elected as the Vice President of India. I wish him all the best as he embarks on this new journey. I am confident that his extensive knowledge and experience will further bolster and uphold our democratic values.”
Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Governor of Manipur, congratulated Radhakrishnan as well. He stated: “I sincerely congratulate Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan on his election as Vice President of India. I wish you wisdom, health, and guidance as you take on this esteemed position.”
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma congratulated Radhakrishnan in a post on X, expressing: “I join the people of Meghalaya and the nation in congratulating and welcoming our country’s 15th Vice President, Shri C.P.
