Bhubaneswar, March 17 (NationPress) The government of Odisha has recently sanctioned investment initiatives totaling ₹6,117 crore. These newly approved industrial projects are anticipated to enhance the state's reputation as a leading investment hub within the country.

The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), during its 135th meeting led by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, has granted approval for 19 significant projects across 10 vital sectors. These developments are projected to create 17,286 job opportunities across 11 districts.

The 19 sanctioned projects encompass a variety of sectors, such as Biofuel, Biotechnology, Steel, Food Processing, Chemicals, Apparel, Green Energy Equipment, Shipbuilding, Aluminium, and Tourism.

These projects will be executed in Balangir, Cuttack, Ganjam, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Khordha, Kandhamal, Rayagada, and Sambalpur, promoting balanced regional development.

The state government emphasized that these investments will continue to propel Odisha’s swift industrial growth and job creation, thereby establishing it as a prime destination for enterprises.

Among the notable projects, Transpacific Engineering Private Limited plans to invest ₹900 crore in a Bio coal facility in Sambalpur, expected to create 630 jobs in the district. In a similar vein, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited will invest ₹868 crore in a High-Speed Diesel & Petrol pipeline spanning Rayagada, Balangir, and Kalahandi, which will generate 168 jobs.

The Biotechnology and Chemicals sectors will also see considerable investment, projected to yield 850 job opportunities.

Additionally, a proposal for a ₹515.32 crore investment aimed at expanding a food processing unit in Khordha has been approved, which is set to create 441 jobs.

The Shipbuilding and Repairing sector in Odisha received a significant boost with the endorsement of a ₹550 crore investment for a Shipbuilding & Repairing Yard in Jagatsinghpur, anticipated to generate 1,000 jobs.
