Bhubaneswar, Jan 27 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Tuesday that a new industrial revolution has commenced in Odisha, highlighting that the state is advancing with industrial proposals totaling nearly Rs 20 lakh crore for the establishment of new industries across the region.

During the inauguration of India’s first Flat Rolled Products (FRP) aluminium unit at Hindalco Industries Limited’s Aditya Aluminium plant in Lapanga, Sambalpur district, CM Majhi emphasized that once these proposals are implemented, approximately 15 lakh new jobs will be created in Odisha.

The project, established with an investment of Rs 26,996 crore, is expected to provide employment for 5012 people, thereby enhancing downstream manufacturing and generating new livelihood opportunities in the area.

In his address, the Chief Minister stated, “Western Odisha is now a beacon of confidence, discipline, and enterprise, evolving from forests and farmlands into a center of world-class manufacturing.”

He recognized the workforce as the true architects of Odisha’s industrial triumph, asserting that their commitment ensures uninterrupted production and consistent progress.

Majhi further remarked that development is gauged not merely by investments or announcements, but by tangible improvements in the lives of people, job opportunities for youth, safety for families, and enhancements in education and healthcare.

Focusing on industrial growth in the western part of the state, the Chief Minister declared, “Western Odisha is becoming a global industrial hub where premier investment aligns with people-oriented development. Our priority is to create jobs locally, bolster MSMEs, advocate for value-added and green manufacturing, and guarantee that as industries flourish, every family, every village, and every youth thrives alongside it.”

He urged the community to embrace industries wholeheartedly, as they form a vital foundation for a prosperous future.

Additionally, CM Majhi inaugurated the 25th edition of the CII Enterprise Odisha Exhibition 2026 in Rourkela, Sundargarh district. This expo features leading companies from various sectors showcasing their capabilities, innovations, and industrial narratives. The Enterprise Odisha platform aims to highlight Odisha’s industrial competencies and investment prospects.

The inaugural evening of the expo included a cultural program and the first drone show of Rourkela, celebrating the rich cultural heritage, social life, and industrial advancements of Western Odisha.
