Bhubaneswar, Sep 1 (NationPress) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized the need for enhanced connections with European nations, stating that showcasing Odisha’s cultural heritage and handicrafts abroad would elevate the state's pride and global recognition.
As per an official release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), CM Majhi highlighted the government’s commitment to fostering collaboration with European countries during a discussion with a group of Indian Foreign Service (IFS) Officers from the 2000 and 2001 batches at the Lok Seva Bhavan.
The delegation consisted of Manoj Kumar Mohapatra, Ambassador of India to Romania, Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to the Republic of Slovenia, and Mrs. Gloria Gangte, High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Malta.
During this meeting, the officers engaged with the Chief Minister on various governance issues, development initiatives in Odisha, and India’s diplomatic relations worldwide.
CM Majhi wished the officers well in their continued service to the nation and recognized their efforts in upholding India’s interests on the global stage.
Furthermore, the state government noted that the dignitaries congratulated the Chief Minister for his exemplary performance over the past year, earning him the title of “People’s CM.”
They praised the successful hosting of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar this year, which prompted global Indians, particularly Odias, to reconnect with their roots. The envoys pointed out the increasing requirement for skilled youth in European countries, indicating ample opportunities for the youth of Odisha.
“Odisha is proactively working to prepare its youth through various skilling initiatives. The Skilled in Odisha program has gained international recognition, and the future appears promising for the state’s youth. Odisha aims to create better prospects for its aspiring youth in European nations,” stated CM Majhi.
