Mumbai, April 10 (NationPress) On the day Tahawwur Rana, a co-conspirator in the Mumbai terror attacks, was brought to India, Eknath Omble, the sibling of Ashok Chakra awardee and 26/11 martyr Tukaram Omble, called on the central government to execute the terrorist, aiming to send a strong message to Pakistan.

Tukaram Omble, a Sub-Inspector in the Mumbai Police, demonstrated extraordinary bravery during the 26/11 terror incident by seizing terrorist Ajmal Kasab’s rifle, which was crucial for his capture.

Sadly, Omble was mortally wounded during the attack, but his heroic actions led to Kasab's arrest, revealing the true extent of Pakistan's involvement in the assault.

In a statement to IANS, Eknath Omble expressed his relief that Rana had finally been returned to India from the United States.

“It is a moment of significant joy that Rana has been extradited from the US. As everyone is aware, on the night of 26/11, Pakistan targeted Mumbai, resulting in the deaths of numerous innocent individuals, including soldiers and police personnel. Pakistan has consistently sought to destabilize India,” Omble stated.

He added, “When Kasab was apprehended, there was an unnecessary delay in delivering justice. However, the world needed to see Pakistan's true face. Over the last 16 years, the roles of individuals like Tahawwur Rana and David Headley have been uncovered. Now, there should be no further postponement. The legal proceedings must be expedited, and terrorists like Rana must face public execution. We demand the most severe punishment possible.”

Eknath Omble also recounted the details of his last conversation with his brother, Tukaram Omble, during the terror attacks.

“That night, at midnight, we saw on television that Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) had been attacked, the Taj Hotel had been assaulted, and several police officers had died at CST. Naturally, my brother was summoned to respond,” he remembered.

“At that moment, Tukaram informed me that there were no threats towards Chowpatty. Half an hour later, the attack unfolded at Chowpatty. Approximately twenty-two bullets struck my brother, yet he selflessly shot at and injured Ajmal Kasab, leading to his arrest. He exposed Pakistan's true nature to the world,” Omble continued.

Eknath Omble further stressed the urgency for justice for the victims of the 26/11 attacks.

“With Tahawwur Rana now in India, I demand that no time be wasted. Rana should be executed promptly. It is time to honor the victims of the 26/11 attack properly. Approximately 166 lives were lost in that incident, and many others were injured. It is crucial to send a strong message to Pakistan by swiftly executing a terrorist like Tahawwur Rana. He must receive the death penalty without delay,” he concluded.

Tahawwur Hussain Rana, one of India's most sought-after fugitives concerning the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, was brought to New Delhi on Thursday following his extradition from the US.

Rana had exhausted all legal options to block his extradition. A specially chartered flight carrying the 64-year-old departed the US on April 9, marking a pivotal moment in India's quest for justice for the 2008 terror strike that resulted in 166 fatalities.

Rana, a Canadian-American citizen of Pakistani descent, landed in New Delhi on Thursday.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is overseeing his extradition in coordination with the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). Rana is expected to be presented before a Delhi court shortly after his arrival.
