New Delhi, Jan 25 (NationPress) As the country gears up to celebrate the 76th Republic Day, the Central government revealed the recipients of the esteemed Padma Awards on Saturday, recognized as one of India's highest civilian accolades.
A total of 139 individuals have been honored for their remarkable contributions across diverse domains including art, social service, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, healthcare, literature, education, sports, civil services, and beyond.
The President of India bestows these prestigious awards during ceremonial events at Rashtrapati Bhawan, usually scheduled around March or April each year.
For the year 2025, the President has sanctioned the awarding of 139 Padma Awards, which includes one duo case (recognized as a single award). The list comprises 7 Padma Vibhushans, 19 Padma Bhushans, and 113 Padma Shris.
Among the honorees, 23 are women, and the list also includes 10 recipients from various categories such as Foreigners, NRIs, PIOs, and OCIs, alongside 13 posthumous awardees.
