They discussed Pakistan’s recent provocations during the night of May 7/8 and how these were effectively countered by the Indian defense systems.
“On the night of May 7-8, Pakistan made an attempt to target various military installations in Northern and Western India, including Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj using drones and missiles. These threats were neutralized by our Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defense systems,” Colonel Qureshi reported.
She pointed out the retrieval of Pakistani projectiles, stating: “The debris from these assaults is being collected from multiple sites, confirming the Pakistani attacks.”
Colonel Qureshi emphasized that Pakistan faced repercussions for their audacious efforts to target Indian military sites.
“This morning, our Air Defense System in Lahore was neutralized by the Indian armed forces,” she stated, adding that the Indian response matched the intensity of Pakistan's actions.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh elaborated on Pakistan's ongoing ceasefire violations along the border and the escalation of firing and shelling along the Line of Control (LoC).
She reported that Pakistan’s provocations are met with equal force from the Army and noted the tragic loss of sixteen lives on the Indian side.
“Pakistan has intensified its shelling, employing mortars and heavy artillery in the regions of Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir. India was compelled to respond to halt Pakistan’s mortar and artillery fire,” she concluded.
