Chennai, March 24 (NationPress) The General Secretary of AIADMK and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, is preparing to relaunch his election campaign this Wednesday, indicating a pivotal moment in the escalating Assembly election contest in the state, according to party insiders.

At 4 p.m., he will speak at a public gathering in Chennai's Mandaiveli market area, marking the commencement of a renewed statewide outreach ahead of the polls set for April 23.

With the Election Commission confirming polling on April 23, the nomination filing will commence on March 30, while the counting of votes will take place on May 4, with results anticipated on the same day.

As the election timeline progresses, political factions across Tamil Nadu are amplifying their campaign initiatives, concentrating on forming alliances, selecting candidates, and engaging voters.

The ruling DMK-led coalition is nearing completion of its seat-sharing discussions, with only a handful of smaller parties remaining to be integrated.

This early alliance consolidation has provided the ruling front with significant momentum in mobilizing their campaign efforts.

Simultaneously, opposition alliances spearheaded by the AIADMK and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are ramping up their efforts to present a formidable challenge, suggesting a multi-faceted contest in the state.

The AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) includes the BJP, Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), Tamil Maanila Congress, and various smaller regional parties.

This alliance has been deeply involved in negotiations to finalize seat-sharing arrangements while ensuring unity among its members.

Recently, Union Minister and Tamil Nadu BJP In-charge Piyush Goyal visited Chennai to engage with alliance leaders and solidify the seat-sharing plan.

It has been confirmed that the BJP will contest 27 seats, the PMK 18 seats, and the AMMK 11 seats, while the AIADMK is expected to contest the majority of constituencies.

Leaders from the respective parties have ratified the agreement, paving the way for synergized campaign efforts.

Palaniswami previously conducted campaign tours across the state prior to the official election date announcement.

This renewed effort is anticipated to concentrate on bolstering party support, countering the DMK's narrative, and invigorating grassroots workers.
