New Delhi, March 21 (NationPress) The current budget session of Parliament on Friday will witness the presentation of several important reports in both Houses, with the Lok Sabha set to engage in the second phase of the Union Budget.
A variety of legislative issues and numerous standing committee reports will be discussed in the Lower House.
According to the List of Business, the Lok Sabha will deliberate on and subsequently vote regarding the demands for grants under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, and the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution for the fiscal year 2025-26.
At 6 p.m. in the Lok Sabha, a submission for a vote on the Outstanding Demands for Grants related to the Union Budget for 2025-26 will be presented.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will seek permission to introduce a Bill that authorizes the payment and appropriation of specific sums from the Consolidated Fund of India for the financial year 2025-26.
She will also propose that the Bill be reviewed and moved for passage.
On Thursday, the BJP issued a three-line whip urging all Lok Sabha MPs to be present in the House for the budget's passage. The Lok Sabha is set to implement the guillotine on Friday.
The BJP's communication read: "All BJP members in Lok Sabha are hereby informed that the guillotining of various demands for Grants 2025-26 will be processed for approval in the House on Friday. Therefore, all BJP members in Lok Sabha are requested to ensure their presence throughout the day and support the government's position."
