Kolkata, July 20 (NationPress) The Patna Police have announced the arrest of four individuals among ten who were apprehended from various locations in Kolkata in relation to the recent murder of gangster Chandan Mishra at a hospital in Patna.

The four individuals taken into custody include one of the main suspects, Tauseef a.k.a. Badshah, along with his associate Nishu Khan, and two other accomplices.

These arrests followed a coordinated operation by the Patna Police and the Special Task Force (STF) of the Kolkata Police, which led to the detention of ten people from two specific areas in Kolkata: New Town in the north and Anandapur in the south, on Saturday.

The detained individuals were subsequently transported back to Patna that same night.

According to sources within the Kolkata Police, Chandan Kumar, also known as Chandan Mishra, was murdered due to his ongoing feud with another gangster, Sheroo, who is currently incarcerated in a correctional facility in Purulia, West Bengal.

Authorities suspect that Sheroo orchestrated the assassination from prison, employing Tauseef a.k.a. Badshah and his group as hired assassins.

Initial investigative findings indicate that the ten individuals detained were directly linked to the murder of Chandan Kumar, who was a convicted murderer on medical parole.

On July 17, he was shot by five armed assailants in the ICU of a private hospital in Patna.

Chandan Mishra was serving a sentence in Beur Jail and had been granted parole for medical treatment. He had at least 24 pending cases across various police stations in Buxar district, Bihar, and was killed just a day before he was supposed to be discharged from the hospital.

Point of View

I believe this case highlights the ongoing challenges of crime management in our country. It stresses the importance of a coordinated approach among law enforcement agencies to tackle organized crime and ensure the safety of our communities. This incident not only reveals the brutality of gang rivalries but also raises pressing questions about security in medical facilities.
