This visit, as stated by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), commemorates the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the nations. It serves as an opportunity to enhance India-Jordan cooperation, explore new collaborative avenues for mutual growth, and reaffirm the commitment to fostering regional peace, prosperity, security, and stability.

During the second phase of his tour, at the invitation of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali of Ethiopia, Prime Minister Modi will undertake a State Visit to Ethiopia beginning on December 16, marking his inaugural visit to this African country.

As partners in the Global South, this visit reinforces the shared dedication of both nations to strengthen their friendly ties and bilateral cooperation," the MEA noted in its statement.

In the concluding segment of his tour, Prime Minister Modi will, at the invitation of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman, visit Oman from December 17-18.

"India and Oman maintain a comprehensive Strategic Partnership rooted in centuries-old friendships, trade connections, and robust people-to-people relations. This visit signifies 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations, following the recent State visit of His Majesty the Sultan of Oman to India in December 2023. It will provide an avenue for both nations to thoroughly assess their bilateral partnership, covering trade, investment, energy, defense, security, technology, agriculture, and culture, while also discussing regional and global issues of common interest," the MEA articulated.
