Born in 1943, Parmar hailed from humble beginnings and was recognized as a grounded political leader with strong ties to rural communities in the Charotar region.
His education concluded at Class 7 before he devoted himself to public service and political endeavors.
In the 2017 elections, Parmar secured his first term in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly by defeating Congress candidate Kapilaben Chavda by a margin of 1,883 votes.
He successfully defended his seat in the 2022 Assembly elections as the BJP candidate, overcoming Jayant Patel of the Nationalist Congress Party with a significant lead of 26,717 votes after garnering 95,639 votes.
The Umreth Assembly constituency in Anand district had previously seen considerable political turnover, making Parmar's victory in 2017 particularly noteworthy.
