A Great Loss for the Nation: JP Nadda Mourns the Passing of Former PM Manmohan Singh

New Delhi, Dec 27 (NationPress) BJP President JP Nadda expressed profound sorrow on Thursday regarding the passing of former Prime Minister and esteemed economist Dr. Manmohan Singh, emphasizing that the loss of the former PM is an immense loss for the entire country.
Nadda referred to Dr. Singh as a visionary statesman and a stalwart of Indian politics.
"Throughout his remarkable career in public service, he (Dr. Singh) consistently advocated for the welfare of the underprivileged," Nadda shared on social media platform X.
"His leadership garnered admiration and respect across party lines. Dr. Manmohan Singh's legacy will continue to inspire generations in their quest for nation-building. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and admirers," the BJP President added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his sorrow over the passing of former PM Manmohan Singh, who died at the age of 92 at AIIMS.
Taking to X, PM Modi stated: "India grieves the loss of one of its most distinguished leaders, Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji. Rising from humble beginnings, he became a respected economist, serving in numerous government roles, including Finance Minister, and leaving a lasting impact on our economic policies. His interventions in Parliament were always insightful. As our Prime Minister, he made extensive efforts to enhance the lives of the populace."
Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed deep sorrow over Dr. Singh's passing, noting: "The news of Dr. Manmohan Singh's demise is profoundly saddening. From his tenure as Governor of the Reserve Bank of India to his roles as Finance Minister and later as Prime Minister, he made significant contributions to the governance of our nation. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and supporters during this time of loss."
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh remembered Dr. Singh as a key figure in reviving the nation's economy during challenging times.
"His contributions to India's progress will always be remembered," the Minister added.
Dr. Singh, the architect of India's economic reforms, passed away on Thursday night at the age of 92.
He served as India's Prime Minister leading the Congress-led UPA government for two terms from 2004 to 2014.
Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, a renowned economist and architect of India’s economic reforms, passed away on Thursday at the age of 92 after being admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) due to deteriorating health.
The AIIMS confirmed the news of Dr. Singh's death in a statement, saying: "With profound grief, we inform the demise of former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh aged 92. He was being treated for age-related medical conditions and experienced a sudden loss of consciousness at home on December 26. Resuscitative measures were initiated immediately at home. He was transported to the medical emergency at AIIMS. Despite all efforts, he could not be revived and was pronounced dead at 9.51 p.m."
Dr. Singh had been admitted for treatment in the hospital on Thursday night after becoming critically ill.
Dr. Singh, who served as the country’s Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, was acknowledged for his transformative role in guiding India’s economy through a period of significant liberalization.
