Samastipur, April 21 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch the inaugural 16-coach Namo Bharat Rapid Rail service connecting Jayanagar and Patna via Samastipur on April 24.

The railway authorities have finalized all arrangements for this launch and have unveiled the official schedule for the service.

According to Vinay Srivastava, the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Samastipur division, the train is scheduled to depart from Jayanagar at 11:40 AM on April 24, reaching Madhubani at 12:25 PM, Sakri at 12:55 PM, Darbhanga at 1:40 PM, and Samastipur at 3:00 PM. It will then continue to Barauni at 4:15 PM, Mokama at 5:15 PM, and arrive in Patna by 6:30 PM.

This service will run six days a week, completing its journey in 4 hours and 50 minutes.

DRM Srivastava noted that the train coaches will feature designs similar to metro coaches, equipped with modern amenities in all compartments. He expressed satisfaction that Samastipur is receiving these express train services.

New train services starting from April 24 include:

Amrit Bharat Express operating between Saharsa and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus

A new Amrit Bharat train will also commence operations connecting Saharsa to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (Mumbai) on April 24. It will leave Saharsa at 11:40 AM and arrive in Samastipur by 3:00 PM, before proceeding through Muzaffarpur, Patna, and Danapur, reaching Lokmanya Tilak on April 25 at 11:30 PM.

This train will not be air-conditioned and will comprise 11 general coaches, eight sleeper coaches, and facilities for the differently-abled, alongside luggage and guard vans.

A new passenger train will also operate between Saharsa and Alauli, fulfilling a long-awaited request from the community. This service will leave Alauli at 11:40 AM and arrive in Saharsa by 2:10 PM.

The Bithan-Samastipur passenger train service is being introduced as well. This train will depart from Bithan at 11:40 AM and will stop at Hasanpur, Rusera Ghat, Narhan, Angar Ghat, Bhagwanpur, and Desua before arriving in Samastipur at 1:50 PM.

The railway line between Hasanpur and Bithan was completed about a year ago and received CRS approval, but operations had yet to commence. This announcement has brought joy to the local residents.
