Patna, June 19 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Siwan in Bihar on Friday, where he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate a series of development projects while addressing a public gathering to mark the occasion.

In anticipation of PM Modi’s visit, BJP MP and former Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh expressed his excitement over the imminent launch of the Vande Bharat train that will link Patliputra and Gorakhpur, stating that this initiative will signify a new era of connectivity and economic growth for the region.

He noted that it is a fortunate moment for the people of Motihari, the constituency he represents, as PM Modi will inaugurate the Vande Bharat Express, opening vast opportunities for the local population.

Speaking to IANS, he remarked, "The residents of Motihari are indeed lucky. We are about to receive the Vande Bharat train as a gift. PM Modi will inaugurate it virtually from Siwan. This train will travel from Patliputra to Gorakhpur via Motihari."

Furthermore, he added, "In addition to the Vande Bharat, PM Modi will lay the foundation for two significant projects in Motihari. The construction of 187 km of sewage systems under the Atal Renovation and Urban Transformation Mission (AMRUT) 2.0 will greatly benefit this area."

A new Vaishali–Deoria railway line project, estimated at a cost of Rs 400 crore, will also be inaugurated.

Moreover, PM Modi is set to launch six Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) under the Namami Gange project, amounting to over Rs 1,800 crore, reinforcing his commitment to the conservation and rejuvenation of the Ganga river.

He will also lay the groundwork for water supply, sanitation, and STPs exceeding Rs 3,000 crore in various towns across Bihar, aiming to ensure access to clean and safe drinking water.

The Prime Minister will also distribute the first installment to over 53,600 beneficiaries of the PMAY U scheme in Bihar and hand over keys to several beneficiaries during the Grih Pravesh Ceremony for more than 6,600 completed houses.

The new Vande Bharat Express (train number 26502/26501), linking Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh and Patliputra in Bihar, will facilitate seamless travel for lakhs of passengers between East UP and North Bihar.

This train will operate six days a week (excluding Saturdays). It will depart from Gorakhpur at 5:40 am, arriving in Patliputra at 12:45 pm, with the return journey leaving Patliputra at 3:30 pm and reaching Gorakhpur at 10:30 pm.

Currently, there are 71 Vande Bharat trains operational across the nation.
