In a message shared on X, PM Modi expressed, "I bring forth my sincere prayers at the feet of Devi Maa! My wish is for her to endow everyone with unwavering strength and robust health. May her divine grace instill self-empowerment in every individual's life."
Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also took to social media to extend his greetings.
In his post on X, CM Yogi remarked, "The sixth day of this sacred Navratri is reserved for the veneration and love of Mother Katyayani, the sixth manifestation of Adishakti Maa Durga."
"Devotion to Mother Katyayani eliminates fear, illness, and adversity, ushering in health and wellness. May the blessings of the slayer of Mahishasura, Mother Katyayani, be showered upon the entire universe," he further stated.
Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, while offering her best wishes via social media, stated, "I pay my respects to Mother Katyayani, the sixth form of the universal mother Ambe. Mahishasuramardini, Mother Katyayani, embodies compassion, bravery, and welfare."
"At the feet of the Mother, my prayer is for her grace to fill every home with joy, prosperity, and love. May her blessings consistently steer us toward Delhi's progress, service, and cultural integrity," she added.
Goddess Katyayani, a powerful aspect of Mahadevi, is honored for vanquishing the demon Mahishasura. She ranks as the sixth among the Navadurgas, the nine forms of Goddess Durga celebrated during Navratri.
As per the Amarakosha, the ancient Sanskrit lexicon, Katyayani is another name for Goddess Adi Parashakti.
She is depicted with three eyes and four arms, wielding a sword and a lotus in her left hand while her right hands are in 'varada mudra' (bestowing boons) and 'abhaya mudra' (offering protection). She rides a lion, with a crescent moon embellishing her forehead.
Navratri, translating to 'nine nights' in Sanskrit, is a significant Hindu festival that honors Goddess Durga and her nine incarnations, collectively called Navdurga.
The festival is observed with immense reverence across India, featuring rituals and prayers that celebrate the goddess in her nine forms.
