Will PM Modi inaugurate Purnea airport and launch Rs 45,000-crore projects in Bihar on Sep 15?

Patna, Sep 11 (NationPress) As the Bihar Assembly elections approach, prominent leaders from both the NDA and the INDIA bloc are ramping up their visits to the state to attract voters. The most notable visit is that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is set to address a large gathering in Purnea district on September 15 and unveil development projects valued at over Rs 45,000 crore.

The centerpiece of this visit will be the inauguration of Purnea Airport, a long-anticipated project that is expected to revolutionize air connectivity in the area.

This new airport is anticipated to not only enhance the development of Purnea but also uplift the broader Koshi and Seemanchal regions, which have historically struggled with connectivity issues.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary conducted a review of the preparations at the airport site on Wednesday and provided directives to guarantee seamless arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit.

“The entire state, particularly the Koshi and Seemanchal region, is buzzing with excitement. Transformative changes in air connectivity are on the horizon for Bihar,” he stated.

Choudhary also pointed out another significant infrastructure initiative, revealing that the Modi administration has greenlit the construction of the Mokama–Munger segment of the Buxar–Bhagalpur High-Speed Corridor, a four-lane Greenfield expressway.

Covering 82.4 km at a cost of Rs 4,447 crore, this project is expected to considerably reduce travel times and enhance road connectivity throughout central and eastern Bihar.

The Prime Minister’s rally in Purnea is viewed as a pivotal political event, with the NDA intent on highlighting its development achievements while the INDIA bloc is also gearing up to launch counter-campaigns to strengthen support in the area ahead of the elections.

The NDA's campaign in Bihar will also involve participation from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, among other senior BJP leaders.

In the meantime, the INDIA bloc is preparing a parallel campaign to counter the NDA’s developmental narrative.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who recently attracted large crowds during the Voter Adhikar Yatra, is set to return to Bihar to lead rallies.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal, and other alliance leaders are also expected to join the campaign trail.

The upcoming weeks promise a direct confrontation between the NDA’s development story and the INDIA bloc’s focus on social justice and citizens' rights, positioning Bihar as one of the most fiercely contested battlegrounds in the nation.
