PM Modi Unveils Projects Valued at Rs 2.08 Lakh Crore, Including Major Green Hydrogen Hub

Visakhapatnam, January 8 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled an impressive array of projects amounting to Rs 2.08 lakh crore. This includes India's most extensive green hydrogen hub, the new South Coastal Railway zonal headquarters, the Krishnapatnam industrial node, and a bulk drug park in Andhra Pradesh.

During a grand public gathering at the AU Engineer College grounds, attended by Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, he virtually inaugurated, laid foundation stones, or dedicated various projects to the nation by unveiling plaques. The initiatives encompass sectors such as energy, railways, roads, and pharmaceuticals.

The green hydrogen hub, being developed by NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), is set to rise at Pudimadaka in the Atchutapuram mandal of Anakapalle district, involving an investment of Rs 1.85 lakh crore. This ambitious endeavor, to be constructed over an area of 1,600 acres, aims to position Andhra Pradesh as a leader in green energy and establish India as a global frontrunner in green hydrogen production.

Under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, this massive project will harness 20,000 MW of renewable energy to generate 1,500 tonnes of green hydrogen daily. It will also produce 7,500 tonnes of green hydrogen derivatives, such as green methanol, green urea, and sustainable aviation fuel, primarily targeting international markets. The initiative is projected to generate approximately 57,000 jobs.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister laid the foundation for railway projects exceeding Rs 6,000 crore, which includes the establishment of the South Coastal Railway (S Co R) Zonal Headquarters in Visakhapatnam at a cost of Rs 149 crore. This new railway zone addresses the long-standing demands of the State as outlined in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014. Additional railway projects comprise the doubling of three railway lines, covering 465 km across the state.

He also dedicated railway projects worth Rs 5,700 crore, which include the doubling of five railway lines across 323 km within the state. Moreover, he laid the foundation for the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area, which will be developed at a cost of Rs 2,139 crore. Located in Tirupati district under the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City) is anticipated to attract investments totaling Rs 10,500 crore and create nearly 100,000 direct and indirect jobs.

The bulk drug park is set to be developed near Nakkapalli in Anakapalle district at an investment of Rs 1,877 crore. Its strategic location near the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) and the Visakhapatnam-Kakinada Petrochemical and Investment Region is expected to enhance industrial activity and create thousands of jobs in the area. He also laid the foundation and inaugurated 17 road projects valued at over Rs 7,500 crore.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi, marking his first visit to Andhra Pradesh since the TDP-led NDA assumed power in the state, conducted a roadshow alongside Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan before heading to the public meeting venue.
