Prime Minister Modi's Two-Day Tour to Andhra Pradesh and Odisha Starts Today

New Delhi, Jan 8 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day journey to Andhra Pradesh and Odisha beginning Wednesday.
In a significant initiative aimed at promoting sustainable development, industrial advancement, and infrastructure growth, PM Modi will dedicate, inaugurate, and lay the groundwork for projects exceeding Rs 2 lakh crore in Visakhapatnam on January 8 (Wednesday) at 5:30 p.m.
He will also inaugurate the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention in Bhubaneswar on January 9 at 10 a.m.
In a crucial move towards his pledge to green energy and a sustainable future, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the cutting-edge NTPC Green Energy Limited Green Hydrogen Hub Project at Pudimadaka, close to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, marking it as the inaugural Green Hydrogen Hub under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
This project involves an investment of approximately Rs 1,85,000 crore, which will support 20 GW renewable energy capacity, making it one of India's largest integrated green hydrogen production facilities capable of generating 1,500 TPD of green hydrogen and 7,500 TPD of hydrogen derivatives, including Green Methanol, Green Urea, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel, primarily aimed at the export market.
The initiative is expected to considerably aid in reaching India's non-fossil energy capacity target of 500 GW by 2030.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will dedicate, inaugurate, and lay the foundation for various railway and road projects valued at over Rs 19,500 crore in Andhra Pradesh, which includes the laying of the foundation stone for the South Coast Railway Headquarters in Visakhapatnam, among other projects.
These projects are designed to alleviate congestion, enhance connectivity, and foster regional social and economic development.
Continuing his vision for accessible and affordable healthcare, PM Modi will lay the groundwork for the Bulk Drug Park in Nakkapalli, situated within the Anakapalli district.
This Bulk Drug Park is expected to generate thousands of jobs while accelerating economic development due to its strategic location near the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) and the Visakhapatnam-Kakinada Petroleum, Chemical, and Petrochemical Investment Region.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City) under the Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, located in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh.
The Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City), a flagship initiative under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, is envisioned as a smart industrial city.
This project is projected to attract significant manufacturing investments of around Rs 10,500 crore, creating approximately one lakh direct and indirect jobs and significantly enhancing livelihoods while driving regional advancement.
PM Modi will also inaugurate the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention in Odisha.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention serves as a premier event for the Indian government, offering a vital platform for connecting and engaging with the Indian diaspora, allowing them to interact with each other.
The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention is being organized in collaboration with the Odisha government from January 8 to 10, 2025, in Bhubaneswar.
The theme for this PBD Convention is "Diaspora's Contribution to a Viksit Bharat".
A significant number of members from the Indian diaspora across more than 50 countries have registered for the PBD Convention.
PM Modi will also remotely inaugurate the inaugural journey of the Pravasi Bharatiya Express, a special tourist train designed for the Indian diaspora, which will depart from Nizamuddin Railway Station in Delhi and travel to various destinations of tourist and religious significance in India for a duration of three weeks.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Express operates under the Pravasi Teertha Darshan Yojana.
