Bengaluru, Aug 10 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi was greeted by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah upon his arrival at HAL Airport on Sunday, where they exchanged friendly pleasantries. The PM is set to inaugurate the Vande Bharat train services and the Yellow Line Metro, in addition to experiencing a ride on the Metro. He will also lay the foundation stone for Phase 3 of the Bengaluru Metro.
After his arrival at HAL Airport, the Prime Minister traveled by helicopter to the HQTC Helipad located at Mekhri Circle. He was welcomed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, and other distinguished guests. Alongside CM Siddaramaiah, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot was present at the airport to extend his greetings. Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly R. Ashoka also welcomed the Prime Minister with floral tributes.
From HQTC Helipad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made his way to KSR Train Station in a car. Along the route from Mekhri Circle to KSR Railway Station, thousands of BJP supporters and admirers gathered, chanting slogans like 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Modi Modi'. The Prime Minister, seated in the front of the vehicle, waved at the enthusiastic crowd with a smile throughout the journey.
PM Modi later arrived at the Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna (KSR) Railway Station to inaugurate the Vande Bharat train service connecting Bengaluru and Belagavi.
Tejasvi Surya, President of the BJP National Yuva Morcha and MP from Bengaluru South, stated that the Prime Minister is launching two key projects for the city. “He is laying the cornerstone for Phase 3 of the Metro. Upon commencement, approximately 10 lakh people are expected to use the Metro daily. The Yellow Line Metro opening will benefit 18 lakh individuals in the Bengaluru South region,” Surya explained.
“I had requested PM Modi to inaugurate the Yellow Line Metro Project in Bengaluru. The Prime Minister emphasized that any delays in launching these projects were unacceptable, as the Metro services would alleviate traffic issues for the residents of Bengaluru. He scheduled the inauguration within just seven to eight days,” Surya remarked.
“On behalf of the people of Bengaluru and Karnataka, I congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he added.
PM Modi is set to flag off the Bengaluru-Belagavi Vande Bharat train services at KSR Railway Station in Bengaluru. He will also inaugurate train services between Amritsar-Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Nagpur-Pune.
He is expected to arrive at the RV Road (Ragi Gudda) Metro Station in Bengaluru to inaugurate the Yellow Metro Line, followed by a Metro ride from RV Road to Electronics City Metro Station. Additionally, he will lay the foundation for the Metro Phase 3 project at a function at the IIIT Auditorium in Electronics City, Bengaluru.
